About Newsbay

News Bay 71 is an independent digital newspaper covering Justice, Explainers, Society, Rights and Business.

Rights are easiest to defend when they are described precisely. It is part of VUGA Network, a group of independent digital publications published in the United States.

The work is analysis and explainers, not wire copy. A typical piece takes a single protection — an asylum standard, a labor inspection regime, a disability access rule — and follows it from statute to tribunal to the person still waiting on a decision. Outrage without documents does not run, and a press release is never treated as a finding.

What We Cover

Rights sets out what a given protection guarantees and where its limits sit.

Justice follows courts, prosecutors and oversight bodies from the filing of a claim to the enforcement of an order, explaining what a judgment decided, what it declined to decide, and how the outcome changes the position of people bringing similar cases.

Explainers takes the machinery apart for readers meeting it for the first time: who decides, on what evidence, within what deadline, and what recourse follows a refusal.

Society examines inequality where people actually meet it — renting an apartment, applying for a job, enrolling a child, dealing with police — combining statistics with individual case files and naming the institutions responsible.

Rights News carries judgments, bills and enforcement actions in short, dated items, while Business News reports procurement audits, wage claims, union recognition and settlements, favoring companies whose decisions reach large numbers of workers.

Sources are named wherever naming them is safe, anonymity is explained on the occasions it is granted, and where the evidence stops, the piece says so.
